1000 W. Adams - Ductwork Project
Edwards Engineering was tasked with the replacement of two 100% Outside Air Make-Up Air Units that serve the hallways of the multi-family building at 1000 W Adams. One unit serves the north hallways and the other serves the south hallways. The units were beyond their life expectancy and in need of replacement. Also, the outside air intake ductwork was corroding. We replaced the outside air intake ductwork.
The customer expressed their concerns of high humidity/moisture during summer days, so we took that into account and added reheat coils to the new units for dehumidification of the air. The old units did not have this, and the customer is very happy with the reheat coils.
We were able to save the customer thousands of dollars from our crane pick location and avoid street closures. The neighbor was kind enough to allow us to use his property as a staging area for the crane.
The new units were tied into the customer’s building automation system. Through the Internet, we are able to dial in remotely and monitor the new units' operation.
